Two armed robbers have been shot dead following a gun duel between operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Delta State Police Command and suspects.

According to Daily Post, the deceased including their accomplice who escaped gun shots by the whiskers, had robbed their victim at gun point about 2 pm 0n Tuesday, November 1, around the Warri-Sapele road area of the state.

It was gathered that the robbers dispossessed their victim of N300, 000, three handsets and other valuables before fleeing on a tricycle.

But the victim swiftly made a distress call to police operatives who traced the suspects to Agbassa junction in the area. The police gave the suspects a hot chase and a 45-minute gun battle ensued, leading to the death of the two suspects. Celestina Kalu, the state police spokesperson, confirming the incident, said that:

“Two expended cartridges, one cut-to-size pistol, one live cartridge and the tricycle used by the suspects were recovered. The corpses have been deposited in the mortuary, while efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing suspect.” In another development, it was a show of shame as two police officers were caught fighting in public.

According to the pictures that have gone viral on social media, the police officers were caught fighting in their full police regalia as they exchanged blows and remained inseparable despite the intervention of their colleagues.
