He defected to the APC and cited need for progressive change in Gombe

The APC in the state welcomed him and other new members to their fold Alhaji Abibakar Habu Mu’azu who was the campaign coordinator for former president, Goodluck Jonathan has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Mu’azu who was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) picked up his membership card at his Kashere Ward in Akko Local Government Area in Gombe state.

He said he was motivated by the need to develop progressives change in his state.

“Other big names that made similar moves, with our supporters, include former Minister of Transport, Senator Abdullahi Idris, former Gombe State Deputy Governor Lazarus Yoriyo and former FCT Minister, Dr. Modibbo Umar.

“We also have Senator Saidu Rufai Alkali (who represented Gombe North in the Seventh Assembly), Jamilu Isiaku Gomna, Haruna Luka and many others who we shall know in the course of time.

“This we have done because of our love for the state as there are so many things we have observed that needs to be changed. “Since we have been privileged to change the top (president), we in Gombe want to change the bottom of the ladders also. “We want to ensure that come 2019, Gombe will be under APC because we have not joined the party to obtain ticket by force but to put heads together, correct the past mistakes and strategise for the future.”

Adamu Fata who is the zonal vice chairman of the APC in Gombe received the new members to the party. He said Mu’azu’s entrance into APC had equalled him with others as he was now “part of the party’s ideology of collective struggle and success.”
