If Frank Ocean isn't nominated, Kanye West is not going!
The Life of Pablo rapper took time out of his Oakland, California, show on Saturday night to address Ocean's Blonde album being ineligible for next year's GRAMMY Awards, after the 28-year-old artist reportedly did not submit it on time.
West compared the technicality to an experience he remembered with Lady Gaga, whom the rapper was in talks to tour with years back.
"[Lady Gaga] wasn't nominated for Best New Artist, right? But they wanted her to perform at the show -- they wanted her to open," the 39-year-old rapper says in the video. "So the GRAMMYs secretly changed something about the nominations in order to nominate her, in order for her to perform in the show."
"Now, Frank Ocean, on the other hand, is very vocal that his album wasn't nominated for the GRAMMYs, right?" West adds. "Since he's vocal, no one wants to say nothing about it. No one wants to do nothing about it."
"A lot of people try to make a scene, like, 'I'm so self-centered,"' the rapper reveals. "But the album I listened to the most this year is Frank Ocean's album."
"If his album's not nominated in no categories," West vowed, "I'm not showing up to the GRAMMYs."
Check out his declaration below.
Ocean's 2013 album, Channel Orange, won Best Urban Contemporary Album, and was nominated for Album of the Year. The critical acclaim of the album fueled anticipation for Ocean's long-delayed sophomore effort, which has also resonated with fans, but was revealed last week not to be GRAMMY eligible.
Meanwhile, West -- who has 21 GRAMMYs of his own -- has not been shy about using his Saint Pablo tour stage to discuss personal matters.
Last week, the rapper called out longtime friend Jay Z for not visiting him in person after Kim Kardashian West's scary Paris robbery incident.
